At Mesa.School you learn both the foundations of the method, with concepts that transform your understanding of work and leadership, and the steps to assemble your team and lead the process.

In this course you learn the foundations of the method: concepts that change your understanding of work and leadership. The practical steps include identifying problems and turning them into something people want to work on; selecting, confirming and guiding the right team; and leading the entire process to achieve a result.

After completing the course, you have all the knowledge and tools needed to prepare and lead your own Mesa. You can solve problems in your company and help your clients solve theirs using the Mesa Method. With your certificate, you do not need permission from Mesa Company, and you can say that you are running a Mesa. After the course, we consider it important to put the method into practice by running Mesas to become a Mesa leader.

Yes. Anyone who finishes all 18 lessons receives a unique, verifiable digital certificate issued by Mesa.School. It confirms that they have completed the course, have the knowledge and can apply the Mesa Method.

You have access to the course for at least 12 months. All content remains available after completion. You can revisit sections whenever questions arise or when you are preparing to run your first Mesa.

Yes. You can take the course intensively. Its 18 sequential video lessons total 2 hours, 28 minutes and 22 seconds, so you can watch all the material in a little under two and a half hours. Many students spread the lessons over two days to allow time to take notes and practice the concepts.

The course does not require any material beyond the video lessons. All the tools needed to run your own Mesa are presented in the videos. As you watch, you will understand why no additional material or activity schedule is needed.

At Mesa, we believe above all in doing. This course gives you the information and detail needed to run your own Mesa. There is no formal assessment. After the learning stage, we expect students to evaluate their knowledge by putting it into practice and leading a Mesa.

Mesas focus on assembling the right team—letting the problem determine the knowledge, experience and skills required—and creating something real, rather than an idea or a prototype that illustrates an idea. Unlike Design Thinking processes, the aim is to solve something in all its complexity. The Mesa Method requires the team to create the solution itself. If it is technology, you code the product. If it is a new food product, you cook the recipe. If it is a business, the entire financial structure is decided in five days. Another fundamental difference is leadership. Design Thinking and traditional sprints have a facilitator committed to the process. A Mesa has a leader committed to the result.

Mesas can solve problems of many kinds. The method has been used for different challenges, markets and cultures. Any complex problem—one requiring more than one kind of experience or knowledge—can benefit from Mesa. A complex problem tends to be difficult, but not every difficult problem is complex. A mathematics problem, for example, may be difficult without being complex if it requires only one specialty. Creating a new business, launching a product, positioning a brand, defining an organization's purpose or shaping company culture are examples of problems already addressed in Mesas. They require people from different fields to work together to solve them.

Only one of the 18 lessons focuses on the in-person format. All the others concern the method itself. Even when they mention in-person work, they focus on concepts that can be applied in different formats and contexts.
